Warm weather brings more bicycles, scooters and motorcycles to Carson City roads
With the lack of ice and snow on the roadways and sunny days ahead, we are seeing an increase in motorcycle, scooter and bicycle traffic on the roadways around Carson City.
This increases the chances of crashes on these modes of transportation as most drivers do not expect them to be out and about this time of year.
Remember, due to their size and design, they are difficult to see when sharing the roadway with larger vehicles. As a motorist, you should be always aware of the traffic around and ahead of you.
Riders of two wheeled vehicles should also be paying attention as you may not be clearly visible to other motorists and of course, wear a helmet for protection as well as some type of bright and reflective clothing to increase your chances of being seen.
As a reminder for scooter operators, if your scooter is under 50cc, you must have a valid Nevada driver’s license to ride it. Drive safely and share the road.

No injuries occurred due to the crash being low impact as the rider was turning left onto south Clearview Drive and the vehicle operator was turning left from a stop sign on Clearview Drive to northbound Edmonds.
