Humane Society: 118 pets adopted at Carson City facility during Home 4 the Holidays
The Nevada Humane Society says 1,322 dogs, cats and small animals went home during the Home 4 the Holidays Pet Adoption Drive. The number surpasses the goal of 1,000 animals as well as the 2013 adoption numbers, 1006 animals, for the event.
Carson City had a total of 118 pets — 46 cats and 72 dogs — adopted as part of Home 4 the Holidays that ran from Nov. 21, 2014 through Jan. 4.
“We’re so grateful to this wonderful community who helped us achieve this important adoption goal by opening their hearts and homes to a new pet. It speaks volumes about what a big-hearted and compassionate community we live in,” said Kevin Ryan, CEO for Nevada Humane Society.
This was also the first holiday season for Nevada Humane Society Carson City, as part of the new partnership which began back in October. Both shelters saw success in pet adoptions and holiday donations.
Nevada Humane Society is open for adoptions seven days a week at two locations from 11am to 6:30pm and an hour earlier at 10am on Saturday. For pet adoptions in Reno, visit 2825 Longley Lane.
