Kristin Luis announces candidacy for First Judicial District Court Department 2

She prosecuted a number of high-profile cases including sexual assault and murder cases. Before returning the District Attorney’s Office, Judge Luis was appointed by Judges James T. Russell and James E. Wilson to serve as the Juvenile Special Master where she made important decisions in delinquency cases and cases where children had been removed from their parents due to child abuse or neglect.

Regarding her run for District Court, she stated, “As a Judge, my goal is always to make sure the law is followed and that all parties are treated with respect and fairness. It is important for the public to understand the role of this position and its impact on them. As a candidate, I am looking forward to meeting more members of my community and earning their trust and their votes by explaining my role and addressing questions or concerns they may have about the court system.”
