Carson City's Bank Saloon to host weekly music livestream with Brother Dan
The Brother Dan Show, a long-running local music livestream that airs Mondays at 5:00pm, announced a new sponsor and location, Bank Saloon in Carson City. The new venue will allow special guests and live audiences to again be part of the show, beginning Monday, Jan. 3.
Streaming weekly since the beginning of 2019, the show hasn’t missed a week since. Along the way, the show has gained a loyal and widespread following. The pandemic forced changes, including the exclusion of both special guests and a live audience, as well as a director/production assistant.
Technology has allowed the local entertainer to elevate the show above a simple cell-phone experience to a multi-camera production that he’s able to control even as he takes his place in front of the camera.
Promoting the hashtag musicheals, the show has been an island of consistent normalcy even as the pandemic has caused so much uncertainty, and draws fans from all over the US and the world. A recent visit to the show revealed a wide range of viewers, who have found a place of solace and camaraderie, evidenced in their comfortable conversations and cyber friendships. While the core audience consists of people who have attended Brother Dan’s live shows in the past, frequent visitors drop by and find a stress-free escape from the isolation of the pandemic.
The Bank Saloon, at 418 S. Carson St. in Carson City, has quickly become a gathering place for locals with a historically significant building and its convenient location.
