Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cat of the Week: Bubba
Looking for a very special cat to share your heart and home? Our Bubba may be that special friend you are looking for. Just under 8 and a half years old, he is a very handsome short haired silver tabby with big green eyes.
Bubba was badly abused in his previous home and was a physical and emotional mess when he first came to Catmandu in June. The only safe place you could pet him was on his head, because everywhere else was sore. He was very afraid to trust anyone.
With a lot of love and patience from our staff, Bubba has come a long way. While head pets and ear or chin scratches are still his favorite, he will now let you pet all the way down his body without reacting. He likes attention and has become quite friendly, but will let you know with a twitching tail when he has had enough.
Bubba does not get along with other cats, so must be an only cat. Consequently, he is currently separated in a room by himself at Catmandu. We give him attention on a regular basis, but he is very lonely and desperately needs a home of his own and someone that will love him and his quirks and foibles.
We suspect Bubba’s abusive owner was male because he is not fond of men. He is good with women, but needs a cat savvy person who is confident working with cats that have a history of abuse. He loves to sit outside on the catio, so a bit of safe outdoor access would be a huge plus for him.
We are hoping there is a special person out there that will give Bubba the good and loving home he deserves after surviving a lifetime of abuse. Because of his special circumstances, we are willing to make him a long-term foster for the right person or family if they will commit to providing him a forever home. This would give them access to our vet for any medical care he might need for the rest of his life, as well as support and homeopathic remedies through Catmandu staff.
If you would like to meet Bubba and all the kitties at Catmandu, please stop by Friday – Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1829 Brown Street.
Currently Catmandu has over 80 cats waiting for homes. If you have room in your heart and home for one of our sweet kitties, please consider adoption, or if you would like to help by volunteering or by making a much-needed donation, please go to: https://catmanducc.org. We appreciate your helping us continue to care for Carson City's orphaned, homeless, and abandoned kitties. Meow.
