Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cat of the Week: TomTom

TomTom is a big bundle of love that needs a forever home and a person to call his own. Don’t let his size fool you, once this big boy is comfortable with you, he is just a marshmallow in tuxedo fur.
His favorite thing in the world is to have his face and chin stroked and scratched. He will let you do that all day long.
TomTom actually self-surrendered. He was living on the streets as an unaltered tomcat when he started coming around to eat at our feral feeders. Eventually he decided to call Catmandu home and actually broke in (twice) to join the family.
It took a while to gain his trust enough that we could get him neutered, but it finally happened and he has been a sweet and loving part of the family ever since.
It may take a little time and patience for TomTom to acclimate to a new home and new family, but he is absolutely worth the effort. We are hoping to find him a home before the end of October.
He has become very attached to our onsite caretaker and she is moving away soon. He will miss her greatly but I have no doubt with a little time he will bond with a new family.
While TomTom is happy primarily being an indoor cat, he would love to have a catio or a nice place where he could lay in the sunshine and breathe some fresh air. At 9-years-old, he has many good years left and would love to spend them with a special someone.
He is eligible for the senior-to-senior foster program. This program places senior cats with senior citizens age 55+. The cat lives with you and for all intents and purposes is your cat. The difference is that if something happens and you're no longer able to care for your cat, it can return to Catmandu. And, if the cat develops any health issues, Catmandu provides veterinary care and homeopathy.
Many rescues are overflowing with animals. At Catmandu we have over 85 cats waiting for homes. If you have room in your heart and home for one of our sweet kitties, please consider adoption.
