Open letter To The Senior Senator from Nevada (Harry Reid)

Open letter To The Senior Senator from Nevada (Harry Reid)

Your offices, here in Nevada, have been closed due to to a federal government shut down that has obviously been engineered by the political leadership of the Senate. According to the CBO, at least eighty three percent of our federal government is still operating. Thusly this appears to be a pretend shut down of the government to provide political theater for the benefit of uninformed voters. Some, so called, shut down spending is even being increased to try to close things like the ocean in Florida and Veteran memorials. I'm sure that the clowns in Washington will even claim once again to have closed the Grand Canyon also (along with all the air, water and sunshine). But, we both know about your stealth law recently passed that ensures that this so called 'shut down' is, in fact, a paid unearned vacation for the federal workers of the elite ruling and taxing class. Do not pretend otherwise Senator because it is a matter of public record. We find it illuminating that this so called shut down, closed the Washington Mall to Veterans but opens it for demonstrations by illegal aliens.

I therefore question this shut down pretense as justification for closing your offices in Nevada. Your responsibility is to hear from the taxpayers and the people of Nevada. How can anyone hear anything from a closed office? Who is it, Senator Reid, that you truly served by these actions, Nevada or Obama? I have noted that Senator Heller and Representative Amodei did not close their offices.

I understand that you believe that the Senate has the right to spend money, however I must remind you that the Constitution grants the power of the purse to the House of Representatives. Historically, the proper role of the Senate is to restrain the House from overspending. I know from your passage of the, mislabeled, unAffordable Health Care Act that you appear to have little interest in the limited enumerated powers granted under our Constitution by the States. I also fully understand that socialists wish to place every industry and enterprise in our Republic under the direct control of the federal government and to increase spending for government expansion without limit.

I am astonished at your ability to spend money, our nation doesn't have, to buy things that our citizens neither need nor want, to buy yet more votes from those being robbed. Senator Reid, you should look up the meaning of bankruptcy in the dictionary and then share that understanding with our President. No nation in the history of the world ever improved its economy by spending itself into oblivion. However, your national socialist colleagues in the Weimar Republic were much like you and did try. It didn't end well for them either.

I am puzzled that our senior Senator would wish to make Nevada even more subordinate to the federal government when the federal government already has direct control and mismanages over eighty percent of the land area within Nevada. Senator Reid are you trying to increase that federal control in Nevada by increasing the scope and powers of the federal government far beyond it's Constitutional restraints? Indeed, should we follow your lead and now also close, Nevada? If we do close Nevada, won't that mean that you will also become, like almost a quarter of your electorate here, unemployed?

I do not fault our President for this impasse of the government shutdown since we would expect a socialist to be devoid of education about the Constitution, American History and basic economics. How could anyone ever become a devout Marxist and socialist otherwise? In China, students of economics laugh at you and Obama's belief that communism (a.k.a. socialism) can ever work. Obama's name and yours shall be as a spray painted form of graffiti vandalism upon our nations Constitution.

Senator Reid, we are not yet a dictatorship and you need to learn compromise. President Reagan proved that even communist dictators are required to negotiate compromise. Tell this to Premier Obama when you get through bowing to your fearless leader. The failure clearly lies within the leadership of the Senate which, in the opinion of many, is attempting to usurp the Constitutional powers of the House to control our national purse strings through ruinous and reckless spending.

Thusly does stupidity appear to qualify as a preexisting condition for the socialist disciples of Obamacare. Senator, the voters know that Obamacare was created to cover up the
fact that Medicare and all the other social programs are failing by going bankrupt. Raising taxes will only delay the demise of socialism in America. Killing old people using government death panels is a final solution but then we have all heard of that before from previous national socialists in the Weimar Republic. Is repeating that sorry history, really the best you can do? Is covering up the bankruptcy of socialism really worth he lives of so many of the very young and very old? Everyone heard you say, “Why would we want to help one child?” and they also heard what you didn't say but actually thought, “Why would we want to help one child rather than play politics?” Senator, isn't any
child's life, sacred?

The Senate was sent three funding bills by the House which has the sole responsibility to initiate any spending law. Is the Senate truly suggesting that they should now create spending laws rather than the House without first revising the Constitution? Is the Senate attempting to impose it's own spending dictates over the Constitutional authority of the House? It is obvious to everyone that the Senate has engineered this government shut down by rejecting three spending authorizations. That's three strikes against you, Senator Reid. If the elections weren't rigged by convicted felons like Whittemore here in Nevada you would be permanently out of office and most likely joining them or your family's Chicom employers stealing yet more public lands for more phony Nevada soliar power plants for a living.

Senator Reid, I know that you are much too busy buying billions of more bullets and weapons for the Obama administration to enable more shootings of unarmed mothers in Washington, not to mention spending more for automatic weapons for the drug cartels in Mexico, to waste time listening to a Nevada voter. But I think, Senator, your responsibility and priority should be to lower the burden for the taxpayers of Nevada, not grandstand like an Obama hand puppet or put on a show as an Obama ventriliquist dummy voicing more socialist lectures using your, all too familiar, falsetto little girl voice.

Our nation once had to rebel over unjust taxation by a would-be king called George who became a trifle too full of himself. Must the taxpayers now educate yet another would-be king named Reid over a similar unjust taxation? It makes little difference that one may mislabel these unjust taxes, as health care. We know what they really are as does the Supreme Court and Chief Justice Roberts who also ruled it a 'tax' [disguised as health care]. It is now time for the Senior Senator from Nevada to lead the restoration of reason in the Senate by accepting a spending bill that also repeals Obamacare.

The only remaining purpose for this letter is to advise you that since the government is shut down, we taxpayers are starting to think about shutting down our payments to the federal government as well. This will likely continue until such time as the U.S. Congress begins to follow the Constitution once again by restoring fiscal sanity by adopting the States Convention authored balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution - much like our Nevada State Constitution has always had.

Since we are unsure that we can call your offices here in Nevada with our complaints, we'll be sure to register what we think of your decisions when we visit the ballot box next year. Should you not be too ashamed to run for reelection next year, we'll insure that you hear that message loud and clear, whether your office is closed or not.

Respectfully Yours, R. Lee Darby Citizen, Tax Payer, Voter, Veteran Cold War Victor & anticommunist
