There will be a Tip-a-Cop fundraiser for Special Olympics Nevada on Thursday night at 1st and 10 Sports Bar and Grill in Dayton. The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. at the bar and grill, located at 240 Dayton Valley Road.

Carson City is encouraging local support and the use of hashtags to nominate the capital city for a $20,000 grant offered through the National Recreation and Park Association and The Walt Disney Company to improve a local park.
