An afternoon tea at the Governor's Mansion will be held Oct. 16 as a fundraiser to benefit Carson City's Holiday with a Hero program.
The menu includes cucumber sandwiches, lemon bars, fruit kabobs and more prepared by the Carson High School culinary class. The tea is from 1 to 3 p.m.
There will be raffle items and a silent auction. Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased at the Carson City Elks Lodger, 515 N. Nevada St. Seating is limited to 60. Please come and enjoy the afternoon and learn more about this worthy program.
Holiday With a Hero partners with local organizations and individuals to help underprivileged children in Carson City have a proper Christmas.
Monetary donations are collected and dispersed to designated and prequalified students as Walmart gift cards. Local police, fire, medical and military leaders guide the students through the store to spend their money on gifts for the students and their families. The gifts are then wrapped and sent back to the student's school. Learn more about Holiday with a Hero here.
