Artist Reception Friday, Sept. 14
Carson City Art Gallery’s Artist of the Month for September is Roger Freeman, a multi-medium artist living and working in the Carson City area. During his reception you will be able to meet him and talk to him about his wonderful work.
Roger Dean Freeman was born in 1965 in Oklahoma City. He showed enormous artistic talent from a very young age. Encouraged by his mother, who was a creative soul herself, he studied art throughout his childhood, both in school and with private art lessons.
As a high school student, he won the statewide art competition and was named as the number one high school artist in the State of Oklahoma. As a young adult he attended art school at both Rose State College and Central State College, and at the age of 19 he began working in the emblematic industry as an artist working for Midwest Trophy Manufacturing in Del City, Oklahoma.
He has been fortunate to work as a professional commercial artist and designer since that time. In the years that followed, Roger designed several jewelry items for U.S. Presidents, the Pope, and several other public figures as well as awards and other items for NASA, the White House, the NCAA, and other well renowned companies.
Currently, Roger owns his own design, framing, and 3-D modeling company, accepting assignments from such famous and respected companies such as Creative Modeling and Design and A&N Tooling.
While he appreciates and enjoys his work as a professional artist, Roger’s true passion is in creating works of fine art. He has spent his entire life honing his fine art skills. His work includes oils, pen and ink, pencil, and mixed media works. His work mainly centers on landscapes of the Western States.
He is currently represented by Carson City Art Gallery where he has several works displayed for sale.
Please attend this fabulous artists' reception on Friday, Sept. 14 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
