Nevada Field Day brings food, giveaways, activities and demonstrations from UNR experts
At Nevada Field Day 2022, set for Sept. 17, visitors will be treated to a variety of free activities and giveaways, and even some tasty food samples.
Nevada Field Day, presented by the University's College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources and its Experiment Station and Extension units, features hands-on activities and information from University experts focusing on the latest advancements in:
- agriculture, horticulture, rangeland and veterinary sciences
- biochemistry and molecular biology
- children, youth and families
- community and economic development
- health and nutrition
- natural resources and environmental science
The event is held at the Experiment Station's Main Station Field Lab in Reno.
As part of this year's activities, Farm Girl Chef Elisabeth Watkins, a Food Network Chopped Junior winner, will present a cooking demonstration.
"September is a great time of year for people to visit Main Station," Bill Payne, dean of the College, said. "There will be a lot to see and do, and it really helps people understand how we blend the missions of the University in terms of teaching, research and engaging with our communities to serve Nevadans in their everyday lives."
