Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cat of the Week: Bunny
Looking to add a honey of a Bunny to your family? Look no further.
Bunny is an adorable, petite short-haired tabby tuxedo girl under 3 years old, that is finally ready for a home of her own.
She was just a teenager when she and her 3 tiny kittens were trapped and brought to Catmandu in July of 2020. She was wild as wild can be when she arrived, terrified of people and willing to hurt you if you tried to touch her. We feared she was destined for a life as a feral barn cat.
Then we discovered she liked to be sung to, especially “Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star” and “Soft Kitty”. It really calmed her down.
After a couple of months of staff and volunteers stopping to sing her a song every time they passed her living quarters, she started letting people touch her. Over the next 2 years, Bunny slowly blossomed. She learned to trust people, to really enjoy getting petted, and discovered the joys of play. Now she rubs against your legs and asks for attention.
Honey is young and healthy, spayed and up to date on her shots. She would make a wonderful friend for a special someone. Bunny would do best in a home with no dogs or small children. She likes some outdoor time so a catio would be ideal to keep her safe while enjoying the fresh air.
To meet Bunny and her many feline friends, stop by Catmandu at 1829 Brown Street. We are open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Catmandu is a cage-free non-profit cat sanctuary and rescue. Since opening in 2014, Catmandu has helped more than 2300 cats and kittens find a better life. Most of them come from disadvantaged backgrounds. They are strays, feral born, or abandoned. Catmandu needs the support of our community to stay open.
