Carson City Senior Center hosts living history program 'Technology on the Comstock'
Using vintage photographs and extensive research, local authors and historians David and Gayle Woodruff examine the innovative spirit that helped make the Comstock Lode of Virginia City one of the most important industrial periods in human history.
From four-mile-long tunnels to the world’s largest pumps, the tales of ingenuity and imagination of the Comstock men and women are brought to life in this 55-minute history presentation.
The program is on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 1:30pm. The event is free and will be in the Nevada Room at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive. RSVP’s for the event are not necessary. Call the Senior Center for more information (775) 883-0703.
