Alaskan wilderness author featured at Carson City's Browsers Corner Book Store
After two years of teaching with the government’s Bureau of Indian Affairs in a small Inuit village in Chevak, Alaska, which is 500 miles from the nearest road, Nancy Scott and her family boarded a plane to continue their Alaskan adventure. In 1976 the Scott family re-settled in Stebbins, a village which is a little southeast of Nome, Alaska to continue their teaching careers.
Hear all about their fascinating adjustment to living and teaching in a remote Alaskan village at the next Browsers Corner Book Store author event. Nancy L. Scott will discuss her second book, A Little Southeast of Nome, An Alaskan Adventure Parts II & III.
If you enjoy a spirit of adventure, inspiring stories, a vivid account about what it’s like to live in the Alaskan wilderness, and insight into the beauty and perils of cross-cultural integration, you won’t want to miss this presentation.
Join Nancy L. Scott at the Browsers Corner Book Store author event on August 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The bookstore is located at 711 E. Washington Street in Carson City.
