Near the heart of Carson City, CAAST Sierra Tahoe has been dedicated to the creativity and growth for young performers over the past year. Guided by Director Miss Sydney Rose, the studio has quickly become a cherished community hub for aspiring dancers of all ages.
To mark their one-year anniversary, CAAST Sierra Tahoe is inviting the community to a day-long celebration on Saturday, August 3, 2024 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring free classes across their diverse program. From mommy and me to fairytale ballet, tap to contemporary, acro to jazz and more, participants can sample the studio’s offerings and discover the joy of movement firsthand.
More than just a dance studio, located at 511 Fairview Drive in Carson City, CAAST Sierra Tahoe embodies a holistic approach to arts education. "Regardless of their academic or career choices, we use the performing arts as a medium to educate, mentor, encourage, and grow our students," explains Miss Sydney. "It’s about more than just dancing; we’re nurturing life skills and attitudes that will serve them beyond the stage."
Indeed, at CAAST Sierra Tahoe, the emphasis extends far beyond perfecting steps and routines. "We're building structure, discipline, and work ethic," said said Miss Sydney Rose at NAMI Northern Nevada’s 2024 Annual Charity Gala. "Our program teaches teamwork, communication skills, and self-advocacy. Through music and dance, we foster genuine self-confidence and social awareness."
Looking ahead, CAAST Sierra Tahoe has ambitious plans for the future.
"We're expanding our conservatory program to prepare dancers for industry-level competitiveness," reveals Miss Izzy. "We’re committed to nurturing talent and passion."
Excitement is also building for their upcoming Christmas show, with open auditions scheduled for August. It’s a chance for students to showcase their skills and creativity on stage, marking another milestone in the studio’s journey.
As CAAST Sierra Tahoe looks back on a year of growth and forward to new horizons, the studio remains dedicated to enriching the lives of its students through the transformative power of dance and music. Whether preparing for a career in the arts or simply seeking personal growth, CAAST Sierra Tahoe continues to inspire the next generation of performers to shine both on and off the dance floor.

Caillah Lott, Student and June, 3
“My Daughter started CAAST in September 2023. I was a little hesitant to sign her up due to CAAST being a new studio in town. HOWEVER, I’m glad I gave this studio a chance! My daughter not only loves it, she really came out of her shell and has learned so much! Sydney is hands down the most caring, down to earth, and LOVING dance director/ teacher I can have ever asked for! We will be returning for fall classes and If you’re looking at a new studio or just a studio in general, please consider joining CAAST!”
Bridget Johnson
Student: Alice, 9
“Alice has been involved with youth theater for awhile in Carson, but I knew she needed more focus and time to work on her dance skills. When I first started looking for a studio, I wanted it to be a smaller one where she could thrive and feel seen. I couldn’t imagine how much we’d luck out at CAAST with Miss Sydney and her team. Alice has had the most diverse options for classes and they have helped her grow as a dancer, actor, singer and person. She feels so confident and happy as a result.”
Erich Parker, 18
“My time at CAAST dance studio was a refreshing and enjoyable experience. The studio offered a fun and new environment. The atmosphere was not only welcoming but also promoted a healthy lifestyle, making it an ideal place to learn and practice dance. Overall, my experience at CAAST was both fulfilling and inspiring.”
Kira Padilla, 24
“I have been with CAAST since about a month after they first opened. I had always wanted to be a dancer, but took on cheerleading as a teen instead, so I was scared to start fresh as an adult. I gave it a shot anyway! With Miss Sydney's techniques and encouragement I've learned a lot in just a year. I'm so proud to say dancing at CAAST has become my happy place every week. “

Student: Della, 6
“CAAST dance studio is more than just a place to learn dance steps; it's a vibrant hub of creativity, discipline, and fellowship. It is a second home to many young dancers, including my daughter, who has flourished here in ways I never imagined. From ballet to jazz, hip-hop, tap, and even acrobatics, there’s something for everyone.
Mrs. Sydney envisioned a space where passion for dance could be nurtured and where every student, regardless of skill level, could find their unique voice through movement. Today, that vision is alive and thriving, with a dedicated team of instructors (Miss Izzy and Mr Erich) who bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to their teaching.
For my daughter, the variety of classes has been particularly beneficial. She has explored different styles, discovered new strengths, and developed a well rounded skill set that has boosted her confidence both on and off the dance floor. The instructors' dedication and the studio's nurturing environment have played a pivotal role in her growth. For any parent seeking a nurturing, challenging, and community oriented dance environment for their child, CAAST is a place where dreams take flight.”
