Southwest Gas employees to deliver food donations to Carson City low-income households
CARSON CITY — Hunger and food insecurity affects one-in-eight people in Nevada. As part of Southwest Gas’ commitment to tackling this issue in the areas it serves, employees in Carson City and the surrounding districts are hosting a food drive, with all the non-perishable items being delivered to local food banks and low-income residents.
Southwesters are working with Northern Nevada Dream Center to distribute the Carson City donations to two low-income apartment complexes on Saturday, July 13:
— 10 a.m. – Southgate Apartments, 2100 California St, Carson City
— 11 a.m. – University Heights Apartments, 2028 West College Pkwy, Carson City
The food banks in the other Southwest Gas Districts that will receive donated food items are:
— Lovelock Community Food Bank – Lovelock, Nev.
— Christmas Cheer – South Lake Tahoe
— Project Mana – Incline Village/Truckee
— Friends in Service Helping – Elko, Nev.
— Fallon Daily Bread – Fallon, Nev.
— Winnemucca Ministerial Association Food Bank – Winnemucca, Nev.
Southwest Gas serves more than two million customers in Arizona, California and Nevada.
