Children's Museum announces new Executive Director
The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada’s Board of Directors is proud to introduce our new Executive Director, Luana Olsen.
Luana has extensive administrative and bookkeeping experience and has taught in the public schools for 12 years. Lu received her Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Elementary Education and English Literature in Minnesota and holds a current Nevada State Teaching License as well as a Master’s Degree in Computer Education which she received in California.
Lu’s love of children and education is reflected in the new exhibits and workshops being created. She is enhancing current exhibits and making many changes to accommodate new ways for children to interactively discover the world in which they live. She opened the dinosaur exhibit in March and will soon open an exhibit featuring Nevada’s mining industry. We at the Museum want all of our exhibits to be play-based learning experiences.
Lu’s main focus; “I would like to get kids motivated, and bring back the excitement and wonder of exploring and discovering science and the arts.”
