Kite weekend, rummage sale returns to Carson Valley's Dangberg Home Ranch
Something in the Wind, a free kite flying event, will take place at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16. On the same weekend, the non-profit Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch is also hosting its annual rummage sale, Scatter's Attic, at the park. Both activities are free to attend.
Something in the Wind features expert kite flyer Cameron Kauffman of CoolKiter.com. Kauffman will demonstrate several models of large and unusual kites, as well as answer questions. The public is also welcome to bring kites to fly, at any time during the day.
Inexpensive, quick-assembly kite kits will be available for purchase, as will some pre-made kites, while supplies last. Unlike previous years, free kites and assistance with kite-making will not be available.
The kite event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16. The rummage sale is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park is located at 1450 NV-88, Minden. Follow on Facebook here for more information.
