UNR Wolfpack Football hosts community scrimmage this Saturday at Carson High
On Saturday, April 6, starting at 10 am, the community of Carson City is presented with a unique opportunity as the University of Nevada, Reno football team plans to host a public scrimmage at Carson High School. This event highlights UNR’s head coach, Jeff Choate's, commitment to fostering a strong bond between the team and the wider community.
Coach Choate expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are really excited to bring our team to Carson City this spring. It gives us a chance to connect with our fan base there and show them how much we appreciate and need their support during this launch." The initiative aims not only to provide a platform for fan engagement but also to simulate an away game environment for the players, offering a novel preparation experience for the team."
The decision to host the scrimmage, with activities beginning at 10 am and free entry for all attendees, underscores a significant effort to involve the local community in the university’s athletic programs. This approach serves as an invitation for local residents to engage with the team, fostering community spirit and enthusiasm for UNR Football.
Coach Choate's strategy aims to create a memorable experience for fans and to deepen the connection between the Wolf Pack and the Carson City community. “It will be a great event; we are planning some fan engagement activities with our players in conjunction with the scrimmage. We're looking forward to Wolf Pack fans to join us at Carson High School on April 6. Go Pack!” Choate remarked, highlighting his anticipation for the event.
This event offers a prime opportunity for residents of Carson City to showcase their support for the Wolf Pack, so we encourage everyone to come out and support the team. See announcement here.
