Nevada United Veteran Legislative Council featured at Carson City council of U.S Navy League
The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, Carson City.
Our Dinner and Meeting will be held in the Juniper Room this month. The Social hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Our speaker will be Tony Yarbrough, Chairman of the United Veterans Legislative Council. Tony Yarbrough is a retired Industrial Plant Engineer having worked in Naval Civil Service and private corporations all over the U.S. He is a Navy Veteran, serving during Viet Nam, and worked as a Machinery repairman achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Tony resides in Yerington, Nevada and is the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8084 Commander. He is also the State Deputy Legislative Chair representing all 9,000 VFW members and is the Chairman of the United Veterans Legislative Council representing nearly 500,000 Nevada Veterans, Military and their families in the State Legislature.
His volunteer service has taken through appointed and elected non-profit leadership positions in his community. He has officially been a registered Nevada Lobbyist since 1991. Since we are now in an active Legislative session, Tony will have insight on what is going on and how it will affect Veterans.

We will be having a Comfort Classics Buffet, which includes, Roasted Pork Loin, Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy with an assortment of side dishes and dessert. The Navy League of the United States was founded in 1902 by President Theodore Roosevelt and is a civilian organization with more than 50,000 members dedicated to educating American citizens and elected officials about the importance of sea power to U.S national security. We also support the men and women of the sea services and their families.
The Carson City Council sponsors and supports Navy and Marine personnel at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center near Bridgeport, CA and NAS Fallon, NV, as well as, the Carson High Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Command and Navy Regional Recruiting Command. Our Council is the official sponsor of the USNS Carson City. Come and join us in learning about and to support our Maritime Services.
