After a brief hiatus, Carson City Ward 2 Supervisor Brad Bonkowski will hold his “Breakfast with Brad” on Friday, August 5, from 7:00 to 8:00 am at the Cracker Box restaurant. All Carson City residents are invited to join Bonkowski for coffee and conversation.
"It’s a very busy summer in Carson City, with so many projects underway, both in the public and private sector. Silver City, Nevada – There will be a free Bike Safety Rodeo for children ages 5 to 12 on Tuesday, August 9th from 10am-noon at the Silver City basketball court (385 High Street).

Volunteers in Policing, Lyon County Sheriff's Department, Smith's Grocery Store, donors, and community volunteers contributed to the event that resulted in the collection of $480 in cash plus over $700 worth of food items for the Dayton Food Pantry in just 4 hours on July 9th, 2016 at Smith's Grocery.

Silver City, Nevada - Narrative, story-telling visual artist Frances Melhop, voted “One of the World's 200 Best Advertising Photographers 2009/2010″ by Luerzers Archive, will bring her skills and talents to the Resident Artist Program in Silver City this summer. She'll set up a temporary studio at the Silver City School House during August 2016, photographing some of the Comstock’s longtime residents for a 2017 exhibition at the Haldan Art Gallery at Tahoe.

RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s fall “Grow Your Own, Nevada!” program presents eight classes statewide to help Nevadans get on the path to more sustainable, local, healthy living by growing and preserving more of their own food.

The Capital City Arts Initiative announces its exhibition, Print Project, at the Community Development Building [the Brick], 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City. Ten University of Nevada, Reno [UNR] student artists created the art posters in class earlier this summer. The building is open to the public daily, 8am – noon, 1-4pm. The free exhibition will remain in the building’s lobby exhibition space through August 29.

On Sunday August 14th from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm the Tahoe Resource Conservation District will hold the 9th annual Landscape Conservation Workshop at the Evans Family Garden located at 1383 Mount Olympia Circle in South Lake Tahoe.

The workshop will provide a unique opportunity to see demonstrations of Tahoe Friendly Landscape practices and to interact with local conservation professionals.

Three years of change and rebranding efforts by the Carson City Visitors Bureau (CCVB) are turning the Nevada state capital into a tourist destination, said CCVB Executive Director Joel Dunn, and no longer a point on the road map to pass through.

Eyes on the Lake is the League's volunteer program to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive plants in Tahoe's waters. If you are a water lover in Tahoe (SCUBA diver, paddler, swimmer, beachgoer, or boater) and want to help ensure Tahoe's waters stay clear and pristine, then Eyes on the Lake is for you. Volunteers will learn how to identify plants in the classroom and in the field. Help protect the Lake while you play. Training lasts approximately 2.5 hours.
