The Carson City School District will host a Community Connections K-12 Career Quest event next week, Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. at Carson High School. Dinner will be provided by Chartwells. There is no cost for the event.

From 1959-1986 the Virginia City High School Boys Basketball Team captured 16 Nevada State Championships and had winning streaks of 38, 41, 55, and 93 games. A new podcast produced by VCHS staff and students looks back at this historic run of basketball success.

Some things to consider as we enter into a Presidential election year. Both major political parties would love to score a “victory” for their side in tax law changes in order to gain potential votes.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office received information on February 10th of an alleged Sex Trafficking operation out of California that had arrived in the local area on February 9th.
The original information alleged that approximately 9 persons were involved, including 3 males who were significantly armed. Due to the nature of the sex trafficking operation, the FBI’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Task Force was immediately engaged to assist.
