Drivers will see lane closures beginning May 2 as the Nevada Department of Transportation and Q&D Construction launch the second season of a multi-year project to enhance sections of State Routes 431 and 28 near Incline Village.

A vehicle pursuit and search overnight ended with one man in custody and the driver, who fled after crashing his vehicle, currently at large, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

UPDATE: The suspect, Daniel McNeil, remains at large Tuesday following a vehicle pursuit overnight that ended in a crash near the rifle range. McNeil's passenger, Tony Eldridge, fled on foot and was eventually caught.

The Holiday with A Hero team is hosting a golf tournament to launch its new scholarship program. All proceeds from the event will benefit students in the Carson City School District’s McKinney-Vento Students in Transition program.

A vehicle crash occurred early Saturday morning near Minden, according to Nevada State Police.

The crash occurred just after 4 a.m. on Highway 395 near Airport Road in the northbound lanes.

The crash was listed as fatal.

Traffic resumed just after 8 a.m. in the northbound lanes.

Updates on the fatal will follow as they are released.

Just before 2:30 p.m., a traffic accident was reported in front of Fremont Elementary School.

There are no injuries currently reported.

Two vehicles are involved and, as of 2:26 p.m., they are blocking traffic.

A 28-year-old Wellington woman was arrested in the 700 block of Fleischmann Way Thursday night after allegedly punching a nurse who wouldn’t give her “snacks.”

This Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24, the Highway Patrol and the Office of Traffic Safety is partnering with the Driver’s Edge program to promote safe driving habits and skills to drivers 21 and younger.

Driver’s Edge is a half-day program for drivers ages 21 and younger (with a valid license or permit) that teaches real life emergency avoidance and response techniques and overall driver safety.
