Last year, the Director of the Nevada State Museum, Dr. Josh Bonde, his wife Becky Hall, Director of the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada, and their two daughters Nola Belle and Kiera were involved in a tragic car accident. The Rotary Club of Carson City awarded this year’s Carson City School District’s Professional Development Center Grant to the “Literacy and Love of Reading through Social Studies” project.

The proposal was submitted by the District’s Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator Brittany Witter. Club members surprised Witter with the award at the school district offices this week.

On Saturday, local law enforcement agencies gathered at Fuji Park for a K9 showcase as part of the 2023 K9 Unit Challenge.

Apprehension and Agility events were on full display at Fuji’s main arena, where bleachers were provided for public viewing (and cheering).
