The states of New Hampshire and Iowa believe they have some God-given right to essentially pick who our presidential candidates will be by holding their nominating contests before all other states.

It's a mighty undemocratic way to operate a democracy.

This week has brought a new low. New Hampshire, acting like the typical spoiled child, is complaining that Nevada Republicans can't hold their caucuses on Jan. 14, which is only four days after the primary in the Granite State.

One deputy spotted Davies, 21, running southbound on North Carson Street near the intersection with Robinson Street. Here is this week's fishing report through Oct. 19 for Nevada, the Sierra, Northern California and southern Oregon.

This is my annual reminder for you to enjoy the spectacular displays of the colorful leaves on quaking aspen trees (quakies) at this time of the year.
If you would like to see and/or photograph those colors, here is a list of my top seven, personal favorite locations, all in Alpine County, Calif., in the Woodfords Canyon – Hope Valley – Red Lake areas.
To reach these locations, just drive south from Carson City on a combination of U.S. 395, Nevada S.R. 88 and California S.R. 88.

In Woodford’s Canyon:

I stood outside of Comma Coffee Wednesday night, observing the people entering. I was hoping a friend of mine was going to come.

Finally, I went inside. There was a sign leaning against a chair that said OCCUPY NV CAPITOL. I introduced myself; these were the people I was here to see.

There were only 12 or 13 of us, but we all had one thing in common: we were disenchanted. We were the hungry, the tired of being pushed around, the broke. We are the 99%.

I should probably back up and explain myself now.
