The Carson City Host Lions Club has been designated an official vendor of the Nevada Day Button, and will be selling the buttons again this year during the Nevada Day Parade.

The Nevada State Museum, Carson City, will mark its 80th anniversary Thursday, Oct. 28 at a lecture exploring the institution’s past. The arrival of notable collections, expansion of facilities, installation of exhibits and honors received all will be explored in the talk offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m., both in-person and online.

A multiple vehicle crash was reported near Arrowhead and Medical Parkway just after 12 p.m. on Saturday.

At least two vehicles are involved. All southbound traffic lanes are currently blocked coming off the freeway onto Carson Street and traffic is being redirected.

Deputies and first responders are on scene and NHP is enroute.

Motorists must seek alternate routes.

On Memorial Day weekend, 17-year-old Shelby Harmon of Carson City could have lost her leg — or her life — after she was crushed against a building by a vehicle, causing a substantial injury to her leg, if it weren't for the quick-thinking actions of three off-duty first responders.
