Time, to my mind, is merely music, if we can only hear it. It occurs to me that our lives are not played out over time, but are played out over melodies and harmonies that compose a swaying samba for instance, that might mature into a beautiful symphony.

Every so often a student emerges from the shadows by challenging himself to ever increasing levels of accomplishment. One such student is CHS 2018 graduate Hayden Story. Hayden began training for gymnastics at three-years-old and was competing from age six through middle school.

Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of Jan. 10-16, 2022. Closures are expected at the following locations due to road and utility work:

A 31-year-old Gardnerville man and a 42-year-old Carson City woman were arrested drug crimes following a traffic stop on S. Carson Street.

According to the report, Dustin Wayne Robertson and Teresa Orlando were arrested just after 3 a.m. after a patrol deputy noticed a vehicle driving southbound that had no light illuminating the license plate.

Kerstin Lindquist appeared to have it all. A handsome husband, a job as a television news reporter and a house at the beach. But inside something was missing; a child. Kerstin and her husband longed for a family. Yet despite being young and healthy, the couple was unable to conceive.

Throughout the Quad Counties, Carson City leads in a new daily confirmed case average with 31 new daily cases on average. Douglas County leads in test positivity rate, with 18.8 percent of all tests returning positive. Carson City leads in initiated vaccinations at 70 percent of the population aged 5 and over, followed closely by Douglas County at 61 percent.
