Carson City announces Community Support Services Grant opportunity for nonprofits, agencies
Carson City is accepting letters of intent to apply for its Community Support Services Grant. Carson City non-profit organizations and government agencies are qualified to fill out the letter of intent. Projects or programs must be for Carson City residents. In addition, agency proposals must meet one of the following critical needs of the community:
• Mental Health/Substance or Domestic Abuse Services
• Youth Services
• Disabled Services
• Health/Dental Services
• Senior Services
• Educational Services
It is imperative that applicants describe in the Carson City letter of intent why their project or program is a critical need for the community. Approval to move forward with the application will depend heavily on how well the applicant agency is able to justify how the project or program is satisfying a critical need for Carson City residents. Applicants may attach one page to the letter of intent explaining their program or project.
Applicants should e-mail letter of intent to grants@carson.org or call 775-283-7069.
CSSG funding is provided on an annual basis, with the program year running from July 1 to June 30 of the following year. Current applications are for the 12-month period beginning July 1, 2022. Upon approval by the Board of Supervisors, the grant money will be included in the next succeeding year’s budget and will be distributed on a reimbursement basis. All grants approved shall be subject to funding availability.
Letters of intent are due on January 24, 2022, by 4:00 p.m., to the Carson City Grants Administrator via e-mail at grants@carson.org. For more information call 775-283-7069 or e-mail MGavric@carson.org.
