The Board of Directors of the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society has announced dates for the 2022 Tour Season of the historic Nevada State Prison in Carson City.

At any given moment in time you can pull up youth fighting and assaults on you tube. Even more disturbing, one can now see it on our local news. It seems like it's happening daily anymore. It is not uncommon to see a cell phone video, or security camera showing teens fighting in a high school.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Carson City Library Board of Trustees. This committee oversees all library policy and budgets. Applicants must be willing to serve approximately six to eight hours a month.

A 43-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor second DUI, driving without a valid driver's license and failure to maintain a lane, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, at approximately 1:55 p.m., a Trooper with the Nevada State Police observed a silver Toyota sedan parked at the Trinity Rest Area off of US-95 in the area of Churchill County mile marker 58.

UPDATE TUESDAY: A Silver Alert issued Monday by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office has been canceled. The missing man, Alan Corridori, has been located. His condition is unknown at this time, according to LCSO dispatch.

In 2018 Mike Smith, a native Mississippian launched Ideas on Tap, a monthly humanities-based community discussions about important issues. Each program included a panel discussion featuring knowledgeable participants who presented a wide spectrum on the topic, as well as a chance for audience members to share their thoughts, and questions. Due to the lack of community support, and attendance I had to make the difficult decision to cease the monthly interactive conversations.
