The 2019 Turkey Trot and Gobble Wobble started bright and early Thanksgiving morning after an overnight snow flurry or two turned the Governor’s Mansion into a Carson City winter wonderland.

With the arrival of Thanksgiving, forecasters say periods of snow and hazardous travel conditions will continue through the holiday weekend and into Monday, prompting the National Weather Service to call for another round of winter storm watches and travel advisories.

Carson City Fire Department responded shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning for man who reportedly suffered serious injuries after having fell off of a roof in the 4800 block of Jordan Court.

Carson City area casinos saw October gaming revenue climb 8.27 percent and south shore Lake Tahoe 14.32 percent over the same time as last year, according to figures released Tuesday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Statewide, gaming revenue was down 3.85 percent.
