Carson City man with warrant jailed, tries to escape 2nd story motel window
A 32-year-old Carson City man sought for a misdemeanor violation of conditions warrant, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of West Caroline Street, where he attempted to flee arrest by climbing out of a two-story motel window.
According to the arrest report, deputies attempted to serve the man a warrant at a Caroline Street motel. The man was out on bail prior to sentencing for burglary and the warrant had been issued for violation of bail conditions.
Officers knocked on a door of a second floor unit announcing their arrival. Deputies called out multiple times without an answer. Deputies were informed the man may be in the possession of a revolver, which had been seen four days prior, the arrest report states.
Officers were alerted by other units that the man was attempting to jump from the second story window to escape. Deputies located the man hanging out of the window trying to find a safe place to jump. He was ordered to stop.
The man crawled back into the window and was detained by Carson City sheriff's deputies after the woman who rented the room allowed the officer inside. No bail hold.
In other arrests:
— A 48-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant issued April 18, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday evening in the 1600 block of Brown Street for suspicion of multiple misdemeanor offenses including evading and failing to stop, reckless driving with wanton disregard, failure to yield and driving an unregistered vehicle.
According to the arrest report, deputies learned of a vehicle doing donuts in the area of Gordon Street and North Edmonds. Another deputy saw the vehicle, which was driving toward him. The deputy activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop.
The vehicle, which did not have a rear license plate, evaded a deputy and went through two stops signs. The vehicle was traveling approximately 15 mph. The driver then pulled into a driveway in the 1600 block of Brown Street. He was detained. He was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak. He had a light odor of alcohol on his breath, the report states.
The man said he he was willing to conduct standardized field sobriety tests. He was arrested for failing to stop for the officer, failure to yield at two stop signs and driving an unregistered vehicle.
The man completed the standardized field sobriety tests at the jail sally port and had no clues of impairment. He was asked why he didn't stop. He stated that he did not want his vehicle to get towed. Bail amount listed: $1,610.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East for a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. The warrant was issued Nov. 6, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
