MINDEN — On March 1, 2023, Community Services Director Scott Morgan was honored with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the Nevada Recreation and Parks Society. This award has only been given out two times in the 77-year history of the organization.

Connal O’Morr Peters Berry, aged 69 of Dayton, Nevada, unexpectedly passed away at his home August 21, 2022. He was born in Williston, Florida on December 17, 1952, to Frank Peters, a US Coast Guard Seaman, and Donna B. Harmon. At about two years of age Connal and elder sister Scheri, were adopted by Raymond A. Berry and Ethel G. Carter of Chiefland, Florida. He was predeceased by all parents and younger sister, Denice Hudson Wade.

McAvoy Layne is a good impersonator of my pen name except for the lack of humor, wit and satire. His attempts at writing the Pine Nuts columns that are mistakenly placed as Opinions rather than under his own column that should be named Lame Layne's attempts at both humor and wit. Properly restraining a child in a vehicle is just as important after an emergency as it is in case of an emergency.

That’s why staff from the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services’ Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program are delivering pediatric restraint systems at no cost to emergency medical service agencies across the state. In March, almost 40 restraint systems were delivered to fire and rescue departments in Northern Nevada and on April 5 another 32 were deployed to rural partners.

Melissa is the Executive Director of Nevada Right To Life and a graduate of Reno High School and holds a BS in Marketing and a MA in Political Science from the University of Nevada. The Foo Fighters are heading to Lake Tahoe when they make a tour stop at the outdoor concert series at Harveys Tahoe on August 10 at 7 p.m. The multiple award-winning band just added stops on their 2023 tour with the South Shore benefitting from the addition as the band heads to the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco.

UPDATE: Tuesday, April 11: Based on tips from the public, the lewdness suspect has been identified and interviewed by detectives. The investigation will be forwarded to the Carson City District Attorney’s Office. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office thanks the public for the many tips that led to identifying the suspect.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at approximately 2:30 pm, a male walking east on William Street near Fall Street accepted a ride from another male in a gray pick-up truck. Once inside the truck, the driver offered the male money.
