Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cat of the Week: Audrey
Audrey has a hard luck kitty story that needs a happy ending. Just 4 ½ years old, she was pregnant and homeless, living on the streets of Comstock Mobile Home Park. A kind lady was feeding her and offering shelter from the winter storms, but life was not going well for Audrey.
Catmandu stepped in and placed her into foster care awaiting the birth of her kitten. Unfortunately, her kitten did not survive and Audrey had emergency spay surgery to save her life.
Now fully recovered, this long-haired black and white beauty is hoping for a forever home where she can be queen of the domain for the rest of her life. Although she is friendly, social, and enjoys pets and affection; she is still unsure about laps and being picked up. I’m sure with time and patience this will change and she may well become a lap kitty as well as a great friend and companion.
Audrey would absolutely do best as an only cat in a home with no small children and no dogs. She is currently in a foster home where she won’t be stressed by living with all the other cats at Catmandu. If you have room in your heart for beautiful Audrey and would like to give her the happy life she so richly deserves, please contact Catmandu at (775) 297-3419; or email: momcat@catmanducc.org. We will absolutely arrange for you to meet her.
Catmandu is a local non-profit no-kill cat rescue, adoption center and sanctuary located at 1829 Brown Street. We are open Friday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. We currently have over 80 cats waiting for homes.
