If you are looking for something to do in the Carson City, Lake Tahoe or Reno areas this week look no further than the Nevada State Museum. We have a busy week ahead and hope you can join us for some or all of the events.

In his paintings, Tom Gilbertson creates a visual imbalance between the central floral image and the industrial overlays. The Capital City Arts Initiative’s exhibition, "Recent Works", presents work by Gilbertson at the Courthouse Gallery. The exhibition began June 5 and runs through Sept. 26, 2024.

Maggie M’s Beginning Art Classes will provide instruction in drawing, sketching, and painting with watercolors and acrylics 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm every Wednesday.

This introductory class is perfect if you are intimidated by the torch or just want to learn or practice basic soldering. Making chains by hand will quickly improve your soldering skills, both due to the repetition and to the delicate nature of the work.

Carson City’s oldest continuously meeting social organization, the Leisure Hour Club, recently installed new officers for the 2024-25 year.

Garden Club is hosting an Meet and Greet! Meet the person that will lead the club, along with other kiddos who love gardening. This club is open to kids ages 09-18.
