Miller Counseling is partnering with Douglas Center for Hope and Healing to offer grief support groups to Carson City and the surrounding rural communities Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.

The Miller Counseling and Wellness Center is located at 104 W. Telegraph St. in Carson City.

The Center for Hope and Healing has been providing grief support to Douglas County for the last 10 years. The goal of building this partnership is to make the free support groups available and easier to access to more members of the Northern Nevada community.

The Carson Nugget Casino will donate over 100 tickets for the John DiResta Celebrity Comedy show to the Carson City, Reno, and all other Northern Nevada Firefighters to recognize their hard and heroic work battling the wildfires in Northern Nevada.

Mike Walker, who's running for a third term in District 5, will speak from Noon to 1:00. John Henley, who is running for the open District 7 seat, will follow after lunch, from 1:30 to 2:30.
