Carson City Community Development is bringing back Saturdays with the city planner at the library. Carson City is continuing to seek Community input and feedback on the City’s land use Master Plan update.

This Saturday Nov. 2, will be Carson City's first Disc Golf Glow Round event. The "Let it Glow Fall Fling" will be at the Carson Ridge Disc Golf Complex located at the intersection of Flint Drive and Rifle Range Road beginning at 6p.m.

Black Ice Theatre Company, in partnership with Carson Valley Community Theatre, is proud to present our fall production of "Misery", written by William Goldman and based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Stephen King.

Using seldom seen photos and extensive research, local historians David & Gayle Woodruff reflect back on the deep and rich history of the Carson Valley, including the important roles played by the Minden Flour Milling Company and its magnificent buildings, the Virginia and Truckee Railroad, Genoa, the California Trail and more in creating one of the most historic areas in Nevada.

Speaking at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Jason Hastings, who has served in leadership positions with the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) since their children started school in Carson City. Wife Lisa is also active with PTO, and is currently servng as president. At Monday's luncheon, Jason and Lisa will provide an update on current PTO activities, interests, and goals.

Capital City Arts Initiative is delighted to present work by the late artist, Robert Morrison, in the "A Glimpse Back" exhibition. His work reflected an active and ongoing dialogue between both geometric and organic forces.

Miller Counseling is partnering with Douglas Center for Hope and Healing to offer grief support groups to Carson City and the surrounding rural communities Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.

The Miller Counseling and Wellness Center is located at 104 W. Telegraph St. in Carson City.

The Center for Hope and Healing has been providing grief support to Douglas County for the last 10 years. The goal of building this partnership is to make the free support groups available and easier to access to more members of the Northern Nevada community.

The series “Learning to be Lost” is an introspective journey that embraces the vastness of the desert landscape as a metaphor for navigating uncertainty. Drawing inspiration from desert survival strategies and illusory mirages, I seek to evoke a visceral experience of being lost.”

The Capital City Arts Initiative’s exhibition, "Nevada Roadsides: Northern Routes", presents work by Najera at the Courthouse Gallery from October 2, 2024 – January 30, 2025. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Wednesday, October 9, 5:00 - 6:30p.m. with the artist’s introduction at 5:30. Maggie M’s Beginning Art Classes will provide instruction in drawing, sketching, and painting with watercolors and acrylics 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm every Wednesday.

In this class you’ll learn about problem-solving through art, as well as how to draw with instructor Kaleb Wyckoff. Whether you can sketch a stick figure or a portrait, this class is for you! All skill levels are welcome.

The Silver City Preservation Society, Evangeline Presents and Yellow Truck Productions are bringing Juno award winning Americana/blues artist Ray Bonneville to town for a show on Friday, November 15.
