Carson City Schools to celebrate 'Week of Respect' with activities to help curb bullying

Per Nevada Revised Statute the first week of October (Sept. 30 to Oct. 4) is designated as the “Week of Respect.” In tow with the annual observance, the Carson City School District will ensure consistent implementation of anti-bullying programs and practices in all schools and work environments with activities and events this week and next. Activities include kickoff events, dress-up days, pledges, giving and receiving compliments and more.

Mobile Dental Services program offers affordable dental care at Carson City schools

League of Women Voters to hold four October election forums at BAC in Carson City

Miller Counseling is partnering with Douglas Center for Hope and Healing to offer grief support groups to Carson City and the surrounding rural communities Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.

The Miller Counseling and Wellness Center is located at 104 W. Telegraph St. in Carson City.

The Center for Hope and Healing has been providing grief support to Douglas County for the last 10 years. The goal of building this partnership is to make the free support groups available and easier to access to more members of the Northern Nevada community.
