A woman was found injured in Alpine County after she and her boyfriend car got stuck in the snow for nearly a week. The body of her boyfriend was found nearby. The couple The couple, Roderick Paul Clifton and Paula Lane, was last seen leaving Citrus Heights for Gardnerville, Nev. on Thursday, Nov. 29. They were reported missing by relatives when they didn't answer their cell phones.

The Carson High School Bowling Team fell off of its pedestal last year for the first time in 12 years. The team, which have been champions every year since its inception in 2000-2001, lost by one pin to the Reed High School Bowling Team in early 2012.

Now, coaches Vern Barnes, Kevin Costa, and David Lethcoe are looking to get the team back up on that championship track. The Carson team has a great mixture of veterans and new faces on the roster to steer this team back into the winners circle.

Recent rainfall and clearing skies may allow areas of fog to develop across Carson City, Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe through Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service in Reno reports visibility could drop below one mile with a few areas of dense fog and visibility below 1/4 of a mile early Thursday morning. Fog will begin to burn off after 8 a.m., and may linger in a few valleys until 11 a.m.

CARSON CITY – The Nevada State Democratic Party today said Gov. Brian Sandoval should immediately disclose state agency budget requests to the Legislature and public.

Some state lawmakers expressed concern at an Interim Finance Committee meeting in October that the Sandoval administration had not provided them with information about state agency requests over and above their base budget requests, known as “items for special consideration.”

A Dayton woman faces a felony DUI charge, the third one if convicted, after she was discovered driving erratically by an off-duty Carson City sheriff's deputy.

Stephanie Dale Sawyer, 31, was arrested Monday, Dec. 3, at 1:39 p.m. According to an officer's report, authorities were dispatched to the 800 block of Fairview Drive regarding a possible DUI driver. Upon arrival the arresting officer made contact with an off-duty Carson City sheriff's deputy who witnessed the driver's behavior.

Come witness the night of Christ’s birth. Feel the true message of Christmas through a Drive-Through, Living Nativity. Lit by 800 luminaria, ten scenes depict The Road to Bethlehem. Walkers enjoy the story from a special walking path. Nearly 200 people of all ages are involved in telling the story, along with donkeys, cows and sheep. In our world of uncertainty, this message of hope and abiding love is our gift to the community. The Living Nativity will be Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9, 6:30-8pm. No fees are charged, though canned food is collected for those in need.

The state of Nevada will introduce a new “brand” in the spring that will include a marketing campaign to help boost tourism and economic development, Gov. Brian Sandoval told an audience at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism on Tuesday at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks.

Other tourism officials said the brand will include a new statewide slogan and logo. Tourism officials said the campaign to roll out Nevada’s new brand has been in the works for more than a year.
