If you’re looking for a sweet, fabulous feline, look no further than Pippa. This eight year old sweetheart has been in our shelter since early March. It’s about time she gets a happy and loving home!

Pippa loves to brushed and pampered. It’s how she keeps all of that beautiful tortie fur looking its best! Pippa is a big fan of treats and chasing ping pong balls. The best part of her day is when she gets to watch the world through the window.

This month’s Senior spotlight from Pioneer Academy, Tierney Frost, is hoping to one day make a career of capturing the world’s wonders on canvas or paper. Her love and passion for art has helped push her through some of the difficult times throughout her school career.

Western Nevada College celebrated the achievements of its 2022-23 graduates on Monday, May 22 in Carson City and will again on Thursday, May 25 in Fallon.

Collectively, the two traditional ceremonies will honor 500 students who are approved to receive 529 degrees and Certificates of Achievement.

A 37-year old man was arrest Friday for suspicion of child abuse/neglect, possession of a controlled substance, a felony parole and probation warrant and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

The results are in for the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. The generosity of the Carson City community resulted in almost 27,000 pounds of food collected in one day.

Thank you to everyone who donated, the letter carriers who picked up the food and volunteers from Advocates to End Domestic Violence, FISH and the Ron Wood Family Center who helped to unload the donations from the mail trucks.

The Jack C. Davis Observatory on the Western Nevada College Campus is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month. Members of the Rotary Club of Carson City will hear about the Observatory’s role at the college and in the community at the club’s next meeting. Observatory Director and Professor Dr. Tom Herring will share the history as well as his thoughts on the future of the facility.
