Carson City arrests: Fugitive with young son found with meth, heroin and needles
A 37-year old man was arrest Friday for suspicion of child abuse/neglect, possession of a controlled substance, a felony parole and probation warrant and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Morgan Charles Jett was arrested in the area of Roop and Dan Street at approximately 3:32 p.m.
According to the booking report, Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team deputies learned of an absconder on parole from Alaska living in Carson City.
Officers working on the investigation learned where the man's vehicle was and learned his 5-year-old son was in the passenger seat. CCSO made a felony traffic stop on the vehicle the suspect was driving. The owner of the vehicle gave CCSO consent to search the vehicle.
During a hand search CCSO deputies located a pipe with along stem and bulb with a milky white substance inside the stem. Also found in a backpack in the backseat was one gram of suspected heroin, 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, several used hypodermic needles, cotton, a spoon with burnt resident and a white marijuana dispensary bag. Jett was booked for suspicion of possession of the drugs, paraphernalia and child neglect/endangerment.
In other arrests:
— A 49-year-old woman was booked for misdemeanor providing false identification and a violation of suspended sentence bench warrant. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for violation of parole terms. No bail hold in lieu of a hearing.
— A 53-year-old Carson City man, Manuel Coleman, was arrested Friday for court warrants alleging felony burglary of a business, grand larceny and an outside agency hold. Bail: $10,000.
