The Nevada Department of Transportation opened State Route 338 in Lyon County following major erosion repairs. State Route 338 travels south of Wellington to the Nevada-California border toward Bridgeport.

The next Carson City Board of Supervisor’s meeting will take place Thursday, June 1 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room in the Carson City Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

Items up for discussion include the Andersen Ranch proposed subdivision, the creation of a new Carson City department, and more.

At the last Douglas County School Board meeting, trustees decided to postponed a recent policy that would restrict access to sports, bathrooms and locker rooms for transgender students. According to discussions, the board plans to make the language of the proposal more clear to avoid legal action.

The Bently Heritage Estate Distillery shuttered its doors in March 2022, but now, the restored spirits distiller will have a new life after the acquisition by Foley Family Wines.

The Sonoma, Calif. based wine company announced the purchase of the 100-year-old facility, which was once a creamery and flour mill, earlier this week.

Just 2 years old, he is people friendly, very social and was best friends with a dachshund dog. He doesn’t spray and has no known bad habits.

According to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, Sheriff's Office deputies have closed 2nd Street near Roop to investigate what appears to be a suspicious gas canister left on the corner.

Bomb investigation protocol is ongoing at this time and residents must stay away from the area.

A 32-year-old man from Dayton was pulled over and arrested on Thursday night in Carson City for his second DUI offense.

Empire Ranch Golf Course in east Carson City is currently flooded, and the course is closed until further notice.

“Due to excessive spring run-off and flood conditions, Empire Ranch Golf Course, Golf Shop, and Restaurant will be temporary closed,” a spokesperson for the course wrote. “We look to re-open with our best golf course conditions as soon as possible.”
