Hanifin's Antiques has recently donated $1000.00 to the Carson City Boys and Girls Club. Hanifin's Antiques will be closing after more than 25 years in Carson City.

On Thursday, December 21, 2023, the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners recognized Renea Louie for her dedication, ongoing effort, and service to the community, youth, and Douglas County.

She was honored as the first inductee into the Community Services Foundation (Foundation) Million Dollar Club. Renea serves in many capacities, including the Douglas County Community Services Foundation President and Chairwoman of the board.

Mooshy is an incredibly mellow and sweet little long-haired boy who only wants to love and be loved. If you start petting him, he will turn into a bowl of mush. On Thursday afternoon, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the parking lot of Carson Mall for a report of a person brandishing a weapon in the parking lot.

According to the victim, she and her family were at the mall for family shopping. When they finished, they were loading their car in the parking lot when a white GMC truck pulled up behind them. The grandmother was behind their vehicle while her son-in-law and daughter were placing their infant in his car seat in the backseat.
