The Lyon County Sheriff's Office has been made aware of a recent phone scam in the area. The scammer is shadowing the Fernley Substation phone number and claiming to be a "Sgt. Howley," telling the subjects that they either about missed jury duty or that they missed a tier hearing for sex offenders.
