CARSON CITY – The state Department of Transportation will review the costs associated with a free program that helps stranded freeway motorists in the Reno and Las Vegas areas after a report to the board overseeing the agency shows that more than $2.3 million was spent on the service in 2011.

Douglas County authorities confirmed the missing boy has been found safe, according to the Record-Courier. Authorities were looking for the boy this morning when he didn't show up to school.

Nevada Neighbors, the Capital City Arts Initiative’s ongoing series of illustrated public talks, will present a talk on contemporary painting by Cassandra Coblentz. Her talk, Conversations in Contemporary Painting, will take place on Wednesday, October 10 at 7pm at the Carson City Library, 900 N Roop Street, Carson City. Preceding her talk, there will be an informal reception for Ms. Coblentz at 6:15pm. The presentation and reception are free, and the public is cordially invited.

"A trip of a lifetime" and "Hard to explain" were some of the ways veterans described their trip to the nation's capital as they landed in Reno Sunday afternoon.
Honor Flight Nevada returned 33 veterans to Reno after taking them to Washington D.C.to view their respective memorials.
Honor Flights have transported veterans to the nation’s capital since 2005. Honor Flight is a non profit organization dedicated to helping veterans visit their respective memorials, including the National World War II Memorial.

A bicyclist was being treated this afternoon after he wrecked in the 1500 block of Carson Street in Carson City.
The 49-year-old male bicyclist, who was reported to be unconscious moments after he was hit, was reported to be breathing and conscious by the time Carson City paramedics arrived.
EMT personnel from the Carson City Fire Department were treating the man in the crosswalk area. The accident, called into dispatch at 3:39pm, was initially thought to be a vehicle accident involving a bicyclist across from Adams and Long streets.

A Carson City woman died on Saturday in a single vehicle rollover accident on State Route 207 in Douglas County, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
Lynette Lucille Cieri, 63, died of injuries sustained in the accident. She was not wearing a seat belt.
