Nevada’s employment growth over the last 12 months is now 1.3 percent with October unemployment seeing a 0.1 percent increase to 5.7 percent, according to figures released by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation's October 2024 economic report. The state’s labor force grew by 1,379.

With the passing of Chef Charlie Abowd, Saturday, the food drive he and Steve Funk, KNVC 95.1 FM Radio's general manager, kicked off Nov. 9, has been renamed the KNVC and Chef Charlie Abowd Memorial Turkey Drop Food Drive. The event will take place annually.

The Peace Poster Contest is an international contest sponsored by Lions International that encourages children, ages 11 to 13, to creatively express what peace means to them. This year’s theme was “Peace Without Limits.”
