Carson City fire crews knocked down a blaze inside a storage shed adjacent to a home in the 200 block of Paiute and Curry streets.

No one was injured. Three crews responded to the blaze, reported at 3:30 a.m. Fire officials said damage from the fire is unknown as is the cause but noted that flames consumed the storage shed and emitted a lot of smoke.

"The shed is pretty full so we'll be here a while cleaning it up," said Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi.

Nevadans who don’t die naturally are more likely to die from drug overdoses, car crashes or suicide than they are to be murdered, an analysis of Centers for Disease Control mortality data shows.
Nevada has the second highest per capita rate of death for accidental drug overdoses in the United States, trailing only New Mexico.

At least 350 attended Saturday night's Winter Wine and All That Jazz at the Carson Nugget Ballroom in Carson City. The wine tasting and jazz event was a fundraiser for the Brewery Arts Center. Attendees sipped, sampled and tasted more than 40 wines from around the region, listened to great jazz and even danced into the evening.
