Local author publishes first book
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 04/28/2012 - 11:18am“John Walker had always known he’d have to come back. No one runs away from a past like his and just walks away clean. Not in the books he’d written or the script he’d just finished. He didn’t blame his wife for being furious with him.”
This is the opening paragraph of local author Jeani Ambrose’s first published book, Legacy of the Father. Legacy can best be described as a paranormal mystery with romantic overtones.

The event is put on by the High Sierra Swing Dance Club, and involves getting some local "celebrities" to compete in a mini "Dancing with the Stars"-style contest. If you are the betting type, I'd put my money on Sheriff Kenny Furlong to win.

Movie Reivew: '21 Jump Street' basic teen fare, but fun for all
Submitted by admin on Sun, 03/18/2012 - 2:03pmThe action-comedy film "21 Jump Street," currently playing at the Fandango Galaxy cineplex in Carson City, may seem a little familiar to those who saw the teen comedy "Project X" recently. And for good reason, the writer for both films was Michael Bacall. There's much of the same in both films, high school affairs drugs and teen mammoth parties.
But don't let that spook you, as bad as "Project X" was, "21 Jump Street" is loud and funny and has two fine leads, Jonah Hill as Schmidt and Channing Tatum as Jenko. In high school Schmidt was the goofball and Jenko the football star.
