Care Flight called to 5th Street crash in Carson City, road closes temporarily

A two vehicle crash has closed down 5th Street from Curry to Nevada streets as of 3:50 p.m. Friday.
One vehicle reportedly ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle.

Placer County Environmental Health, the California Tahoe Conservancy, and NTPUD are reporting bacteria levels present in water quality tests taken over recent days at Patton Landing Beach, and East of the spill site have returned to a normal range and are within California beach water quality standards.

The inaugural Healing in Harmony Festival will be coming to Carson City Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Hosted by Erika Olivas of Aurora Heart Healing, this wellness fair will be a collaborative event of multiple holistic health practitioners who offer services locally. They’ll be on site to help raise awareness of natural healing methods, and the first 150 attendees will receive gift bags.

Among the many delicious vegetables grown by Nevada farmers, tomatoes are a common fan favorite among shoppers. However, if you’ve shopped the farmers market recently, you may have noticed an unusual absence of these delicious fruits.
This absence of tomatoes is largely due to the unfavorable weather conditions experienced throughout the 2024 growing season.
District Judge Luis to speak at Democratic luncheon

July 29, 2024 - 1:00pm The speaker at the July 29th Democratic luncheon will be Kristin Luis, District Judge in Department Two of the First Judicial District of Nevada. The district covers Carson City and Storey County. She was appointed to that position by Governor Lombardo following the retirement of Judge James E. Wilson. She was sworn in on January 9, 2024 and is currently running for election to a full six-year term.
