Lyon County Sheriff: Arrest made in Sara Filiatraut murder investigation
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 07/29/2024 - 8:07pmSince April 15, 2024 the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the disappearance of 25-year-old Sara Fliliatraut. The investigation led to the discovery of Ms. Filiatraut’s remains in a remote area of Churchill County on May 22, 2024. An autopsy performed by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Ms. Filiatraut’s death as a homicide.
People's Choice selected for Nevada Artists Association's Spirit of America Show

Old K-Mart owner wants to turn Carson City building into RV, boat and personal storage facility with retail spaces

Recently, calls for a Winco, Whole Foods, a second Target, an indoor go-cart track, and even a homeless shelter have been brought up. However, since the store shuttered in 2006, there’s been little to no movement on rebranding it.
Now, the Carson City Planning Commission will be hearing a proposal on bringing new businesses into the space.
