Yerington man arrested Tuesday in 2022 Lyon County homicide

After a nine month investigation an arrest was made Tuesday in the August 2022 killing of a Yerington man, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office reports.

A 52-year-old man was arrested Monday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor false imprisonment, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol division is asking the public for information regarding a single vehicle crash Tuesday morning in which the driver apparently left the scene and also left a dog behind.

Carson Valley Farmers Markets bringing local produce, crafts and more to Douglas County

While we in Carson City are awaiting the beginning of our farmers market season, which this year will take place June through September at Mills Park, the farmers markets in Minden and Gardnerville have already begun.
The Minden Farmers Market takes place in downtown Minden every Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. along Esmerelda Ave., which is closed for the event.

June 3, 2023 (All day) Join Muscle Powered and Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space for National Trails Day on June 3rd 2023. We will work on brushing the Waterfall Trail and North Kings Loop and fixing sections of trail that have been damaged by this past winter.
Brushing and trail repair use tools such as loppers, McLeods, hand saws and rakes to remove encroaching brush and to work trail surfaces.

On Monday night, Gov. Joe Lombardo declared a state of emergency due to flooding, mudslides, and other issues resulting from seasonal water runoff across northern Nevada.

June 4, 2023 - 1:00pm Featured Artist shows by Rob Jennings-Teats and Ken Clarke are on display along with the NAA "Just the Right Size" Show presented now through June 16 @ the Gallery. Rob's paintings largely follow religious and spiritual themes and daily life from Southeast Asia and incorporate traditional styles from that region. Ken's paintings include many Nevada and desert landscapes as well animals and pets.
